CMRS 2013 Full Series Option: Aug 24, Oct 12, Nov 9
CMRS Full Series participants will qualify for the CMRS 2013 Full Series point system and the chance to compete for the CMRS 2013 Full Series podium and prizes. Full Series participants will also receive a discounted registration fee, and the CMRS 2013 Full Series race shirt specific to the Full Series you register for, and only once they’ve completed the entire 2013 series. CMRS 2013 Full Series shirts are not for sale. There is only one way to get these shirts; embrace your iron core.

Greenhorn: 5K/10K, 9’ER, 25K = $85.00 included special CMRS 2013 Full Series race shirt that you receive only once you’ve completed the entire CMRS 2013.

Trail Runner: 5K/10K, Half, 25K = $95.00 included special CMRS 2013 Full Series race shirt that you receive only once you’ve completed the entire CMRS 2013.

CMRS 2013 Ultras Race Details

25K: Nov. 9, 2013

  • Packet Pick-Up: Race Day (9 Nov 2013) at the start line. Come early.
  • Check In: All runners are required to check in prior to starting the race.
  • Start: 9:00am
  • Location: Canfield Mountain Trail 10 trailhead (east side of the mountain), USFS Parking Lot on Fernan Rd., Coeur d’Alene, ID
  • Parking is available
  • Portable Restrooms available
  • The Course: This is a one (1) Loop, all trail course. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/380989118#.UkJpVj-sKE4.email
  • Aid Stations/Check Points: There will be ONLY one (1) aid station on this course located between mile 8 and mile 9 at the Nettleton Gulch lot on the west side of Canfield Mountain. There will be portable restrooms here, as well as boiled potatoes and salt, M&M’s, water, Gatorade, First Aid , and other Ultra goodies we’re able to come up with. There will also be an aid station at the start/finish line (Fernan Lot). ALL RUNNERS MUST CHECK IN EACH TIME THEY PASS AN AID STATION. Runners who fail to Check In more than once will be cut from the race. We are expecting cold weather, perhaps some snow, and limited daylight hours; we do not want to go searching for a lost runner that is not lost. It is your responsibility to make sure our Aid Station Directors have checked you in.
  • Drop Point: If you wish to drop anything at the Nettleton Gulch aid station in preparation for your event, you must do this prior to the start (as early as 4am). We will not shuttle your belongings to the drop point.
  • Cut-Off: You should be able to complete this course in 4 hours. However, as we will have other runners on the course far past that, no 25K participant will be kept from finishing if the runner reaches the Nettleton Gulch station under 2.5 hours (no later than 11:30am). There will be absolutely no exceptions.
  • We are making arrangements for a post-race celebration. More info to follow.

 

50K: Nov. 9, 2013

        *50K Requirements:

  • A map of the Canfield Trail System (or equivalent) must be carried by each runner at all times after 3pm.
  • Headlamp/Flashlight: You may be required to start the race with a headlamp or flashlight (please come prepared. Decision will be made on race day dependent upon weather and amount of light at 5am).
  • Headlamp/Flashlight AND Reflective Vest/Belt: are required after 3pm. You will NOT be allowed to leave either Aid Station after 3pm without a headlamp/flashlight AND a reflective vest/belt.
  • Cell Phone: You may wish to carry a cell phone. There is no cell service while in the Fernan parking lot. However, cell service is available on most, if not all, portions of the course itself once you’ve climbed up Trail 10, and is also available at the Nettleton Gulch station.

 

50M: Nov. 9, 2013

  • Location: Canfield Mountain Trail 10 trailhead (east side of the mountain), USFS Parking Lot on Fernan Rd., Coeur d’Alene, ID

  • Portable Restrooms available
  • The Course: This is a three (3) Loop, all trail course. 50M participants will be required to add a short out-and-back section to the course in order to get the full 50 miles. This out-and-back (at about mile 1.2)  will consist of turning left (West) at the Trail 10/ Trail ‘A’ intersection and running out 0.48 miles on Trail ‘A’ and back before continuing (East on Trail ‘A’) onto the rest of the course. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/380989118#.UkJpVj-sKE4.email

There will be absolutely no exceptions. The cut-off time for this race is 15 hour/8pm.

Ultra Marathon: November 9th
Miles of beautiful North Idaho singletrack. Multiple distances to choose from (25K, 50K, 50 Miler). Courses TBD. Start/Finish at Fernan parking lot, Fernan Lake Road. Limited parking available. Be advised there is no cell phone reception on this side of the mountain. We will be communicating with Race Director and volunteers via handheld radio. This is a lightly supported event (we’ll have some ultra-treats for you, but you should plan to bring a support bag of your own if you’ve got special needs/wants), with two major aid stations, and several other aid stations along the course. Portable restrooms will be provided at the Start line and the other major aid station. Exact course info will be posted as we decide on the best course.
Ultra Running is a very challenging sport that takes thought and training. Train smart, and plan well.
